Crossing the swirling river Elpeus, wondering what path I'm on,
Dreaming beginnings and endings, passing that point of ne'er returns,
Trekking beyond rainbows end, o'er peaks down valleys, time is how it's gone,
Beyond Zeus' mountain Acropolis, past Artemis dancing 'round ancient urns.

Drifting asleep into that land of Winkin, Blinkin and Nod,
Where dreams are set, met by smiling Electra from heaven,
Where perfect snow flakes settle on groves of ancient cedars,
Reaching Olympus' lofty purity, nearing thirteenth heaven.

So this is how our journey begins and ends,
Missing finial exits, yet still discovering important stops,
Meeting tattooed kin in their colourful skins, ink disguising souls my friends,
Trumpets raise alarms ere soul is plundered, ere Ares mighty hammer drops.

So this is how the world begins and ends,
Losing our way, reliving memories from battles and oblivion,
Sky diving from paradise without a parachute, born hoping love mends,
Losing our simple minds, slipping then sliding into another idiom.

So this is where the blessed rainbow ends,
Discovering cream doesn't merely shift and rise,
Creamy dreams born in night, curdled o'er time, yet it all depends,
Powerful wealth, truly cream, or ideals dressed in a cheesy guise?

So this is how each lifetime ends,
Those desperate moments realized and recaptured,
Tsunami crash ashore, washing souls in emotion that rapture lends,
Frantic instance, God's hand strips life bare, fractured by that sudden rapture.

So this is how it ends,
Evolution gripping nature, choking mankind by his very throat,
Cosmos revolving around resolution, vying to always make amends,
Starlight revealing reminders, all those shining tags worthy of note.

So this is how it ends,
Simone and Edouard, once lovers, then never making up,
Going blind enraged, losing sight of beauty, forgetting friends,
Surrendering inner space and joy to strife, love is so screwed up.

So this is how it ends,
Haunted by vogue memories, reminded of visions past,
Fields of daffodils, sweet paperwhite narcissus, blooms and blends,
Falling to my knees in recognition, rising up in migrant faith at last.

So this is how it ends,
Seeking validation, questing for someone to simply speak with,
Hoping for compassionate audience, cringing when criticism so oft offends,
Drifting o'er barren dunes, 'cross deep chasms, reveling at nature's marbled pith.

So this is how it ends,
Lemmings racing t'wards that steep cliff edge,
Frogs refusing to croak, as Dr. Extinction intends,
Marvels like glass marbles, chronicles teeter on a fabled ledge.

Dulce et decorum est pro patria,
Lionhearted legends born, sweet and proper for the country,
Emerging life immersed in light,  heroes buried in historic agraphia,
Hanging frail and languid, Judas dangling mute and blinded from a sacred tree.
