when icebergs are gone
never again to be seen
three million years later
after jungles have come and gone
when oceans and seas
have rearranged Pangea
what creatures then
will swim and wander
this changing earth
some different life
what God is worth
when icebergs and glaciers
have disappeared
for a million years
what will divinity
think of this
another billion years
such cosmic bliss

in the shallows
we walk and wade
but we never swim
if only I could see
deep within my very soul
let nefarious flood gates open
cope with what is wanting
realize unbroken we are whole
when the world's on fire
ego keeps haunting
all those things we know
all those things we desire
I find your regal voice
echoing through my mind
all these wicked choices
we have made
both you and I
scorched by the sorcerer's sun
baked into protest pie
if we don't swim
if we merely wade
under every brutal sky
every being
will go blind
those uplifting things
we could have done
those beautiful things
we could have made
doing things softly
doing what is kind
cultivating esoteric things
soul as well as mind

insatiable night
the hungry room was dark
bedroom door ajar
you stood there naked
bathed in hallway light
cool autumn was calling
colour falling in the park
passion under southern stars
passionate you
impassioned I
goddess Venus
warrior Mars
making love
as we were falling
when we finally slept
we dreamed of galaxies
visions full of stars
each time we woke
we were still on fire
all those naked words
we dissolutely spoke
slipping onto that bedroom floor
dripping love
flowing with fervent desire
while serpents slithered
whether snakes
or broken ladders
all those ardent love games
so much cosmic magic
always wanting more

this constant blow
drone ability
drone on
marshal instability
rise up
fly on
a buzzed relationship
drone on
it's here
then it's gone
drone on
that constant buzz
humming death tunes
drone on
tuned to no remorse
record forging
drone on
a forward course
crossing battle lines
drone on
hear that tune
all that buzz
drone on
entrenched for battle
a slaughter house of cattle
drone on
buzzing above
soldiers plunge
drone on
grenades fall whole
into the deepest hole
drone on
shrapnel carves
bleeding hearts
drone on
breaking other parts
what war drones wield
drone on
speaking battle field
modern drone art
drone on

watching
you doing
all those things
I heard Moses speak
about the alchemy of life
and a desert thing
still I have to wonder
what we have missed
under these burning stars
I wonder if I'm remiss
thinking about ours
what you have done
from us to burning
together then alone
under an impossible sun
all this winter cold
all that summer heat
whatever we've been told
together holding hands
standing on ours
my own two feet
so the esoteric comet
committed to cross the sky
streaks like love
it can be brilliant
still love asks why
is divinity just deceit
love asks what for
burn that cross
but those stars
some far away being
and distant Mars
like mysterious love
passionate yet
somehow meek
watching you feeling
that transformation
I heard love speak

insistent oceans
consistently coming
to wake us up
grumbling volcanoes
growling and blowing
putting life to sleep
trembling earthquakes
forever shaking and quaking
quickening our senses
those moaning hurricanes
forthrightly roaring
rearranging weather
so whether
you want
to be here
what we want
or maybe not
tearing down boundaries
building up fences
admit high strangeness
viewed through dark lenses
remit to this apocrypha
rattling the moon and stars
our apocalyptic world
drawn relentlessly
entrenched across landscapes
testing natural senses
restless with all the honesty and grit
ancient shapes we covet and keep
through all this space and time
from shallow into depth
all those deeply knotted strings
we wish we could untangle
what true life should bring
alas those frittered things
we wish would rhyme
all those pitifully deranged things
we've senselessly unfurled
