That stunning morning,
Up on tow'ring Golgotha,
Resplendent looming nature,
Gloom took my hand,
Sweet Jesus shook mourning,
Two grieving Mary's wept,
Angel prayers kept adoring,
Gaggles of scorn swept 'cross,
Such a sorrowful windswept land.

What would it take to make us all happy,
Safe space to dwell and live,
What would it take to keep us all well,
Medicine to cure all our ills,
What would it take to put smiles on our faces,
Peace ringing around the world,
What would it take to bring us all hope,
Security knowing war is over,
What would take away all our angst,
Compassion so we exist in a loving place,
What would it take to fill us with joy,
Springs spouting pure water to drink and enjoy,
What would it take to see us laugh together,
Good food enough so no one dies from hunger,
What would it take so women and children are never abused,
Strong men wise enough to see beauty and hope transfused,
What would it take so desperation doesn't raise its ugly head each and every day,
Enough breast milk and love to nurture every suckling babe,
What would it take so hatred couldn't overtake the world,
Good thoughts and tolerance partaking in harmony,
What would it take so homelessness wouldn't wander our planet,
Safe homes at night to dream about bountiful sharing,
What would it take so nation wouldn't fear nation,
Open borders where peaceful folk could cross as free people,
What would it take so armies would relinquish weapons and love of war,
Sharing goodwill so empathy is prized above every temple steeple,
What would it take so all could wake and enjoy a good day,
Clean air to breathe when we greet each dawn with our jubilant roar,
What would it take to share more love on this consecrated planet,
Manifest gardens brimming with medicine and nutritious food to feed our families,
What would it take for oceans to be filled with bountiful schools of fish,
Mindful of whales so unaccountable action and avarice vanish into a paleon past,
What would it take to enjoy healing poses to mend our broken lives,
Abundant blue birds and endless blue sky,
Brilliant blue flowers reposed with a composite rainbow cast,
What would it take to expose criminal secrets and deceptive lies,
We've anteed in with our final stake,
Carelessly gambling for our own selfish sake,
Invested the dealer draws in our final tokens,
Last card dealt and the Mad Hatter has spoken,
Nothing matters now that Kings born with dragon hearts have woken,
Smatterings of invoked chatter have been reduced and torn apart,
"It is what it is" recites the seductive skink,
Humankind plays the last fink deuce,
Displaced nature is trumped and skunked,
Gleaning grumpy fools gold trapped in a leaking dumpy sluice,
Stumped and slumping our planet has surely lost,
Ticktock ticktock ticktock,
A timely numbing cost,
One mocking minute to midnight,
Blue earth's future recounted as junctures are truly lost,
Shocked earth shimmies under slivers of glistening moonlight,
Inextricably rearranged and encumbered with an everlasting cost,
So cruddy and befuddled we keep listening,
Watt can only wonder about ruddy resistance,
Ohms out of all this insistent earthly plunder,
Nature vibrates calling and shouting for easement,

Electric humans flounder gambling as we grievously go under,
Pondering the umpteenth 'torn asunder',
Wondering whether we'll ever realize appeasement,
Finitely rounding the giving electromagnetic sun,
Forgiving planetary spin within electrical reason,
Galactic inspiration invites ocular completion,
Our spiritual place to dwell and live as one.

 Living by myself

I walk over to my sink

Dishes yuck I cringe

Transplanting spring chives

My nostrils are filled with life

Odours engage me

I don't own this land

My teepee gives me freedom

Mother Earth greets me

Sixty-fifth birthday

April nineteen fifty-four

Rain with spring showers

I keep telling myself,
Just got to get through,
Grasp whatever next I reach,
Beach as one complete piece,
Keep that free speech race going,
Communicate across the universe,
All the way to the next space,
Vocalizing with prepossessed congregations,
Resounding verbs and adverbs in every far-off place,
Oral music with the horned red devil,
Camping secretly in those haunted woods,
Not far from that black and white crossroads,
Dancing and singing and cringing,
Braying under the impartial moon,
Past regent and magnificence,
Behold a sacred tree of life,
Fair Eden's giant old growth tower,
Nurturing this magnificent mother,
Deep notes played,
Chorale from Middle-Earth to Outer-Space,
Cellulose Being displayed,
Incarnate upon this earthly power,
Adorned with fungi and tree rings,
Consecrated with cones and pollen time,
Already 'Old Wood' way back at Year One,
Carved over reframing millenia,
Human mystery and epochal logistics,
Measuring grain and thickness,
Density of ancient distended bark,
Industry measures dismemberment and allowable cut,
Voracity for nature with unholy creed,
Corporate audacity and viral greed,
Forest destiny activated by consumer need,
Marketing board feet into National Interests,
Calculating unequivocal monetary value,
Incorporating quality economic locations,
Destruction appears imminent,
Prayers spoken as a sufferable stipend,
Upending stealthy evil,
A Nation's upstanding wealthy cause,
Timid nature never complains or pauses,
Economic growth brings out the sharpest saws,
Murk and clouds shroud other infamous refrains,
Forest life force and Wisdom's sage domain,
Mediocrity denotes every renewable resource clause,
Scattering sublimely integrated woodchips,
Associating presumed heaven with groomed earth,
Disintegrating nature with gloom and strife,
Sprite doomsday clicking its shyster heels,
Commending every blip and dip,
Disinterested in sacred natural turf,
Literally unmoved by the Fat Man,
Consuming such liberal width and girth,
Removing the last standing tree of life.
