Crowing! In December's moonlight!
Silly bird! It's merely midnight!
Blissful! Full moon shining!
Davidae's rooster crows, divining!

Snowflakes, formed perfect, silent fall,
Aimless drift, as cockerels call,
This silent twilight, year's end swooning,
In dead of night, with cockcrows crooning.

What magic spell is cast this night?
Doth conjured charm make it right?
Tread soft upon dear mother earth!
Such mystic grace allures worth!

What scheme doth this feathered fowl incarnate?
Entrancement, transfixed by this garden gate!
Has jinx betwixt this realm of voodoo?
Is trance bewitched by this hoodoo?

More gentle flakes settle on bended bow,
Low mooing by the farmer's cow,
Thin clouds wisp along the mountain ridge,
As fascination enchants this ephemeral bridge.

Fathom not citizen this hypnotic appeal!
Test not burgher this magnetic zeal!
Whether be it spell or charm!
Walk on, pray it brings no harm!

Broken quiet night, a new year comes!
Crowing rooster bangs new year's drums!
Step sure and gentle along this wooded road!
Dream good thoughts, secure and safe in your abode!
