On the occasion of Aboriginal Heritage day in Canada, June 21st, 2022.
----------------------------------------------
remember that unfair day
scary white police
came to take you away
make you
force you
on that one way train
of course you went
confused
wondering
about that train
its incessant clackety-clack refrain
abused
wondering
why that train
never turned around
at the end of the day
to take you home
your scared mind
you could see
mother waiting
wanting her child
but you were blown
like so many others
in that devil wind
landing on a doorstep
where hell's gate opened
a nightmare concept
those false welcoming doors
black and white nuns
ordered you to eat
compelled you to sleep
demanded you dream
of blood and wine
priests got you drunk
then they would fuck you
child abuse in those drastic places
life absolutely stunk
cruel nuns
abhorrent priests
hiding behind habits and collars
convicted by their abusive lying faces
God punishes idolaters
those unhappy demon places
corrupted by holy clothes
Satan devours heart and soul
clearly hatred motivates
in their twisted mind
a sacred goal
those savage unholy people
your tormentors and jailers
you were truly sweet
a dear child just like God planned
then the nuns strapped and beat you
for being a real human being
those demented nuns abused you
just before the criminal priests fucked you
residential school wasn't about you
residential school was about prison
Satan built it
your heart and spirit and soul
torture you endured
but somehow you survived
existing there
starved and neglected flowers
you left that horrid place wilted
I know you remember
those tragic days
I know you feel
angry and ripped-off
your family life stolen away
cold establishment and brutal church
they got their sordid evil way
how do you let go
of something like that
how do you grow
when they've taken
the Indian out of you
how do you recover
since mother church
marked and branded you
so you feel lost
surely you feel forsaken
father son and holy ghost
