Mirror Mirror
Oh mirror! Thy reflection dost surely show,
Minds eye, those surly demons, whenst we go,
That placid venture, that one dreams,
Our mirrored image, or so it seems.
Plot against us, poor whip o' will,
Shining knight confronts us, lance leveled, still,
Sojourn, thy paltry ways adorned,
God's vision, mixed, crowned and thorned.
Behold! A flaring love for thee,
A dance, a song, sung on bended knee,
Confirmed, contorted, twisted plight,
Revealing misconstrued moth eaten flight.
Thine enemy stares back at thee,
That heartless being, condemning thou with guilty plea,
Hark! Open thine eyes and search thine face,
Seek a child's wisdom, look for simple grace.
Truth lies beneath that wrinkled brow,
Hence aged years discards youth, and yet somehow,
Life's sins confessed, wars thou hast fought,
Thine weathered face, disguised by thought.
