Such dark days
This winter of our existence
Should we be amazed
Is there a uncertain haziness we ignored
It seems uneasy nature can be resistant
But all this crazy damage we've done
Nature itself must be dazed and abhorred
All our mutterings have seen us undone

A sputtering of wisdom but we're not really there
We're teetering on the frittered edge
One small slip and we won't be here
Some have vouched and testified
Few are ever satisfied
What is to become of us
Will the vexatious sun still shine
Will we ever be reassured and gratified
Somewhere there must be a happy heart
Somewhere there must be a slip of love that hasn't been ripped apart
I'm torn and sadly dissatisfied
Most hearts have been stratified
Worldwide joy has been shoved to the roadside
If goodness is merely implied
If kindness is on the backslide
What is to become of us
Can love restore happiness
Midst all this grievous fuss
Perhaps the moon will fall to earth
Crash in pieces as more hysteria is unearthed
If the stars blink out all at once
If a dynamic meteor smashes into us broadside
Perhaps all the dominoes will fall as earth is trounced
An ounce of blissful worth may be our guide
Perhaps we'll find an ounce of love deep inside
Oh our trembling hearts and souls
Reminding us of our worldly goals
