Godhead rang the bell
we woke
good earth
beneath our feet
not much else
we stood
it was meet and greet
one star to another
we searched
one start after another
our own two feet
one foot
in front of the other
we stepped lightly
sometimes marched
not always rightly
stomping jack boots
clomping into the future
chomping cake and cookies
what we want
deep thoughts
expert amateur and rookies
haunting our distant past
it's been fuel and nurture
building signal fire after signal fire
warming our grand stature
as if the world could retire
fastened securely to solar life
this fashionable existence
building passionate pyramids
bearing gleaming idols
wearing polished studs and rings
ranging around this fragile globe
rearranging so many wild things
retaining compassion that we surely must keep
Godhead regaining what spirit sings
dreaming awake or asleep
this is what life brings
