insistent oceans
consistently coming
to wake us up
grumbling volcanoes
growling and blowing
putting life to sleep
trembling earthquakes
forever shaking and quaking
quickening our senses
those moaning hurricanes
forthrightly roaring
rearranging weather
so whether
you want
to be here
what we want
or maybe not
tearing down boundaries
building up fences
admit high strangeness
viewed through dark lenses
remit to this apocrypha
rattling the moon and stars
our apocalyptic world
drawn relentlessly
entrenched across landscapes
testing natural senses
restless with all the honesty and grit
ancient shapes we covet and keep
through all this space and time
from shallow into depth
all those deeply knotted strings
we wish we could untangle
what true life should bring
alas those frittered things
we wish would rhyme
all those pitifully deranged things
we've senselessly unfurled
