Hark ye! Red-shafted flickers rap and tap, mark their welcome stay,
Still now, another January's tale hath been traced and told,
Whence castled cold and snow have come, so stark this arctic fray,
Old man moon, rounded, repents, then wanes, while galaxies resist this frozen fold.

Snowflakes are falling, drift into solitary phrase,
Each flake discriminates, betwixt each narrow bend and curve,
While white Snow Buntings flock and fly, midst this winter haze,
Come days, rule time, yet rest, as Jackson sculpts with frosty verve.

Chance, to be a thaw, or deep freeze text?
Short days ramble, past Christ's December,
If peace be welcomed, if love be next,
Heaven's stars will shine, nature shall remember.

Sleek ermine hunt along the frozen stream,
Handsome deer, my friends, plow snowy forest trails,
Searching gain, browse life's sticky buds, midst winter's polar dream,
As owl and eagle shred winter air, cavort, sublime, extending feathered sails.

Hola friends! Nations rest, by way of winter's solemn sleep,
Imagine, sweet sap rising for the run, spring tonic, ever winning,
Aurora borealis, anoints the northern sky for fun, true faith shall surely keep,
January marks each purple dawn, recounting winter tales, exploring new beginning.

When I close my weary eyes, toasty by my fiery hearth, revere blazing solar disc,
Recalling perfumed summers, sweet bird song and blooming  garden flowers,
Envision warmth, partake of sunny seasons, exempt of winter's frosty risk,
Slumber long my friends, dream well this snowy Janus night, beyond Jack's glacial towers.
