when we find
steep love
reaching and searching
for some deep home
wanting to keep the key
to some closed heart
when caged love
secretly decides
to surrender rage
but still stays
a testy gauge
tucked between the killing pages
of some flesh and bones tome
seeking and testily finding
true love is a breast
most often existing alone
arresting soulful love poems
dashingly written
crashing to make us weep and cry
such passion mocks and thrills us
still we don't know why
having to pretend and try
surprised by friendless love
surmising dry commitment
realizing contentious stars will fall
while crazy love continues
appraise each rising sun
burning with blaze and shine
even if relentless love
decides to leave us
freeze us to a spiral vine
bind us to an immobilizing viral spot
winding up in our deepest fears
contrived by some cold and loveless plot
where all those juicy feelings
aloof joy and loveless years
both hot and cold
chose not to abandon us
come judgement day
making us close our foolish eyes
those storied rivers of salty tears
stream past those assorted lies
dreams washed and carried away
removing love's impassioned disguise
finally when we actually realize
scratched love lied
made us fairy-tale fantasize
lacking real compromise
no reprieve for wounded hearts
lying bleeding and broken
fleeting love
only leaving
after cheating
some spartan token
so close your grieving eyes
all love's sordid emotion
won't and can't forgive
those wounding ties
marking us
scars and sighing
leaving us bleeding and crying
but still we need love
pray and plead for romance
that shining moon and stars above
still write love songs
dancing in all that glory
all those riches in the world
feeding hearts with intrepid love
though true hate will never fully die
while the yearning world continues
combustion with that burning passion
such is that love born ration
flames of marvel and generous joy
hearts stoked with need
stroked by love and love's reaction
ignition for every craving girl
fuel for every craving boy

those things I say
I say them
to make you think
those things I do
I do them
to make you blink
those thoughts I share
I share them
teetering on the brink
those places I've been
I've been there
to eat and drink
I've gone there
to breathe and think
I've found myself there
believing my heart and soul and instinct

I've ranted and I've raved
I've bantered and I've prayed
I've burnt incense since it's what God truly craves
oh holy man
extend your holy hand
send holy across all the land
I wake in my repentant bed
I seek purity in my head
I've been shaken up instead
oh ghostly mount
purity within your ghostly fount
your ghostly paradise tantamount
I'm going too fast
I'm not sure how long I'll last
I am chained to this mortal caste
oh ghostly holy man
envisioning your ghostly plan
blessings by your ghostly hand
I'm hosting sacred visions now
reciting vedas and sacred vows
I'm mostly believing sacred cows
oh ghostly holy one
oh holy lama and blessed Imam
oh sacred's ghostly holy sum
I'm turning corners in my sleep
finding things I need to keep
chasing holy visions down ghostly streets
oh relevant day
oh reverent night
oh sacred holy blessed light
I've broken out of statutory prison
I'm seeing life through a polished prism
I've summed things up with enraptured vision
oh universal good
oh purity and creation
just as God should
oh charity and celebration
if only humans truly would

here we are
at the centre of it all
vibrating and shaking
at the centre of it all
resonating and quaking
at the centre of it all
emulating and contemplating
at the centre of it all
each pulsation
generating and occilating
reminding us
at the centre of it all
divinity assembling
this immortal call
a celestial vibration
at the centre of it all
life's mortal situation
a sacred call
at the centre of it all
light and creation

Haiku Thursday

now at sixty-eight
I take on this old age task
one quilt at a time

              * * *

I've seen sacred time
sobriety thrills my soul
freedom fills my heart

             * * *

live dangerously
sometimes loaded guns go off
bullet in the head

you breathe
you think
you eat
you drink
why speak
why try
why truth
why lie
would one
would two
would society
would you
some do
some don't
some did
some won't
your soul
your kind
your heart
your mind
little forgiveness
little empathy
little compassion
little sympathy
what dawn
what light
what good
what right
these oracles
these ideals
these miracles
these moral spheres

summer had arrived
dawn and glory broke
once again I awoke
a fire still burning
deep inside
knowing peace
opens doors
still this energetic world
worn down by cruel war
savagery is something
we humans should abhor
yet a seething treatise
reflection in these early hours
could humanity do more
I watched a mythic serpent
slither through my open door
shedding its moral skin
a carnal reformation
information about kith and kin
something about hate and naked sin
tormenting our embittered dreams
consider all these broken mornings
I need to repent
consider all these token warnings
things don't progress
so it seems
neglected and rejected
glazed over and frozen
an ice age of misbegotten history
unsolved mysteries
hastily buried human remains
unspoken apologetic refrains
still the suns electric rays
steadily burns holes
branding our eclectic souls
those lasting wounds and scars
tears wash over human disrespect
what brash light and imperfection bring
flooding our disbelieving eyes
eternal prayers and constant fasting
rearranging my congressional self
I wonder how far truth might see
when conceptual free love
remains continually blind
what do foolish hearts feel
impaled and tormented
actions harsh and unkind
such boorish behaviour
our kind is one kind
reflecting my rebellious mind
species human being
everything we do and see
sometimes discouraged and discontented
compressed and depressed
other times compassion and empathetic
so much impressive war to be lamented
all those starving homeless birds
stress and more stress
diminishing glaciers and bleaching coral
wonderful things we have forgotten
beautiful songs and how to sing
acquisitive activities greed brings
selfish corporations that are immoral
just what should each new dawn bring
something magical and remarkable
graffiti remarking on a back alley mural
or something more contemptible
even beyond redemption
can justice be near at hand
without divine reconnection
life should cultivate
a sacred garden
love a lasting peace
shower harmony and joy
across every war torn land
