days
they come and go
years
slip us by
lifetimes
this annual picture show
love and love affairs
oh where do they go
that fateful day
when mountains crumble
troubled nightmares
when oceans boil
that one perfect day
we dare to speak
about fracas love
that fleeting day
we bravely say
we truly care
when the sun
blinks out
what is sadness
all about
what is it
when fragile hearts
are tragically broken
why is it
sweet true love
such deep words
are rarely spoken
will time stand still
if you go away
what will I ever do
if you don't stay
if some day
you leave me
a joyless day
when you turn
one last time
and walk away

that first month
four weeks
I could hardly think straight
think of something
worthy
to rhyme
to write
all those
blood thirsty bombs
mortal missiles
falling
screaming
far off
crippling Ukraine
undeserving
destroying lives
steal away
all my inspiration
dissect what is left
a painful vacuum
right in my being
my centre
squarely filled
with bitter anger
roundly followed
by constant sorrow
when it is survival
because everything
has been destroyed
utterly depleted
when people are defeated
when security and bounty
has retreated
even if we beg and borrow
what ever will come
odd reeling
even if there is
yet another steely
rank tomorrow
even a final
fatal sum

I ask myself
why did God
do this
to us
create
human beings
what was
God's point
just because
I can
or was it
because
I must
would universe
falter without
sentient beings
psalter within
keeping order in things
enduring this
expanding monstrosity
endless energy
eager light
evolving life
isn't chemistry enough
a modem
bonds and eruptions
if frogs could speak
they'd tell us
there is a lot
to croak about
but at the end
of the day
it's not just
beginnings and endings
things twisted
out of dreams
but all those
things in-between
between
sunrise and sunset
between
friends and relations
between
lovers and haters
between
us and them
between
land and sea
between lava and ice
between
earth and sky
between
sun and moon
between
solar plexus and solar system
between
galaxy and nebula
between
black holes and entropy
between
universe and dimension
between
sacred and spiritual
between
God and I

time is broken
shattered moments
scattered
into hours
refined
into minutes
such great rifts
one split second
reckoned as we blink
reckless war is chosen
think ghastly horror
wrapped in this killing gift
echoing barbaric battle cries
torching the world with war
invading with scorching terror
belching tanks and feral jets
rafts and columns of killing machines
crass razor guided armies
dressed in delinquent inhumanity
firing laser guided propaganda
crying missiles and prying gun ships
brutes wielding tormenting cruel
fools loudly speaking
history now hates you
all you megalomaniacs
haunted by your heartless efforts
shattering the world to bloody pieces
so much political chatter
what about encouraging world peace
you and your war machines
apparently humanity
abhors blood thirsty maniacs
every crazed regime
earns its wicked place
branded by an immoral piece of wretched
war crimes standing with a brutal face
tracing unshackled misguided dreams
yet hell bangs on every bunker door
notwithstanding immortal situations
a fatal curse on corrupt war
battles conjure death and destruction
marching with fascist orders
tomes dictating lost soul instruction
such a perverse parasitic nature
crawling out of rotting poems and bloated earth
undoubtedly every warcrime feature
your final solution thinking is tainted
dictator you and your reviled kind
attacking innocence and human subjects
consistently each tragic end
a cause of enraged barbarism
engaging battlefield hatred
staged by human barbaric stature
rage and destruction will blind you
blast open your bunker door
instigated death will find you
delegate your mindlessness
relegate fascist grins and chuckles
dictators breathe their last
lying dead upon a bloodied floor
hung in a central square
pummeled to blood sausage paste
so you think you can stand
lifted by trending greed and viral hate
thinking grand empire
grinning at hell's vile entrance
break you before a mortal golden gate
destiny entranced by willful fate
warriors and mercenaries warring
fire demons wielding anti-peace
corrupt time seals every fateful date
this stop watch world turns clocks back
blame dictators for total war
lust for power instilled in every attack
punishment and more
retire this humanitarian disgrace
stare into your smoky parlour mirror
take a stern hard look
all this old burning history
I can't help but wonder
will we recognize ourselves
parts of us that we held so dear
seems so much is misery and mystery
every peaceful connection
ripped and blasted apart
despots with their total war infection
speaking with an inflection of missiles
grief lives in every bombed out street
leaving and hiding seems futile
bunker busting bombs are dropping
this is where death and sorrow meet
creative rivers of bloodshed and terror
advancing cruelty never stopping
it is severity we should ponder
where should sympathy lie
could we sincerely try compassion
are horror and fear just another fashion
does hatred allow peace to be clear
so here we are
existing in invented flawville
surrounded by milieus of human intention
if it weren't for flaws in flawville
perfection wouldn't be imagined
war would be a self-destructive convention
I ask myself
how can evil happen
burying bodies and bloodied dreams
can't we help ourselves
correct misshapen time
another nightmare it seems
so it comes down to identity
who and what we are as human beings
precariously it comes down to indemnity
broken time is what we're seeing
here we are wanting freedom
crunching numbers into time
distilling hours into minutes
dividing the world
into what is yours
and what is mine
surely sometime in the future
after God stops by to cry
human beings envisioning the sublime
timeless scenes of homo sapiens
rediscovering creative fire

this thing
called art
brush strokes
smeared across
a rainbow world
tantric words imagined
sprawled across
each frantic page
what if
one pedantic
could simply sit
next to the painter
watch and listen
beside the poet
as they work
what mystical lines
magically worked
what might pierce
our wanting hearts
what if splendour
left colourful spatters
incarnations within
our very soul
like scented
red carnations
reaching out
within that goal
what if spirit
reached out
touching us
taking us
to some other high place
upon some apex
where we might
look down
viewing
every haunting painting
alertly staring down
studying each staunch poem
tethers in that sacred realm
beneath a spiritual dome
something fractured happens
making it home
innocence is sadly forsaken
intuition becomes rapture
captured inspiration
like wondrous shapeless water
reshaping every inch of the world
each a gift of sacred life
creating this divine world
eccentric untold perfection
concentric circles with pure intention

find yourself
bleeding in battle
wounded by some enemy
recklessly thrown to the wolves
caring one must surely wonder
if today I'll live or die
finding yourself
with fire in your hands
surrounded by ignition
striking flint and steel
one must cognitively wonder
shall self immolation occur today
denial so often stands to play
what can destiny's truth be
remember impermanence
all our worldly blunders
find myself stark and lying naked
completely beside myself
I discover self mistaken
uncovered and exposed
feeling unpleasantly terribly
I'm left so vulnerable
those reactionary public moments
where everything goes wrong
I've tried being invisible
my shadow and me disappearing
shifting under ground
melding like a ghost into some wall
all my castigation accompanied by wicked spells
lust at my beck and call
if my lurid dreams contained fuel
I'd burn at the stake
this self immolation
simply for my own dramatic sake
if I dig deep enough
uncover enough of this artery and vein
detach myself from the damned
crawl out of my newly dug grave
perhaps all this spurting and bleeding
all these old blood stains
marking every damn day
littered with so much pain and strife
finally constructing my funeral pyre
instruct a single spark
to be a mortal knife
self immolation
a measurement of worthy life
emulating destiny's convolution
its feral bite and bark
categorically
what is wrong and what is right
incinerating emotional life
enraptured by divine desire

all that constant sorrow
reveals every sad part of me
weighs down our already wounded hearts
uncaring sorrow steals happiness
like happiness is something free
emotions tear us apart
relevant unhappy days
frequently sad
such lonely nights
if healing love should ever come
embrace us
finally hold our hands
love so often slipping
through our arms and hands
I wonder if love would feel right
if only joy would arrive
join love in a strong majestic stand
perhaps the despondent world
could be an enlightened land
illuminate compassion
envision right with constant good
empathetic divinity if not God
rejoice in decency and civility
make creative love known
quell every vicious indifference
brutality should forever stay away
if only the cruel world
would spin and turn in a profound way
surely creation thinks it should
squelch heartache and despair
let love and joy
mend our wounded souls
what if blue and melancholy
could never settle anywhere
what about this apocalypse
something terrible is coming
do you sense an approaching fire storm
maybe power and might will destroy us all
leaders envisioning barbaric dreams
every iron fist taking on a fascist form
history never redeems evil
every dictator fails in a tragic fatal fall
war should never become the norm
warlords wreak death and destruction
evil men aren't heroic giants at all
igniting the world with a fascist storm
despair as fear takes us deeper
where hell fire
delivered freely
fixed to war's dangerous realm
such a bloody insane place
bad decisions are often made
unstable madmen stand
riveted to their powerful helm
spiritual peace is subsequently traded
once terror and bloodshed have invaded
so all that constant sorrow
each tragic today and tomorrow
weighs down our hearts
steals happiness away
there is nothing
that we can beg or borrow
we can't purchase happiness
no certain fix just any day
knowingly watch us bleed
fall upon our broken knees
scream and die together
succumb to immoral terror
as loveless war
smashes every mirror
hidden truth so immorality goes
thus more demon war
as it growls and grows
