there's a seagull on my shoulder
a hummingbird inside my ear
I have a song sparrow lifting my being
a bronze turkey rifling through my fear
in my mind I see a soaring eagle
in my heart all those birds are dear
there's an albatross traveling with my soul
a wise old owl teaching me to see things clearer
there's a dinosaur egg in my belly
a pterodactyl chewing on my life
raptors make me quiver like a bowl of jelly
I've been captured as Raven's token
encapsulated by a cuckoo bird on telly
I imagine a nest where life is best
in native tongues the birds have spoken
as we migrate through this lifetime test
