cannibals instead of just carnivores

needs us to be vegan
instead of omnivores
why do we love
chewing on flesh
drinking blood
if only we were vampires
instead of breeding
criminal clans
relegating seminal broods
then our delegated story
might be different
rising from the grave
instead of being
misguided and naive
if we didn't have
a word for war
perhaps our brief history
would be more love
instead of blood and gore
why should fear rule
all our days and nights
why do we believe
all those desperate lies
puked out of the mouths
of emperors and kings
those black-hearted people
thinking they own the right
rebuking to rule the world

blinding us with their sickness
grinding us down
with all their brutal cruel fights
all that misdirected trickiness
making feckless people believe
